An annual extractor fan clean and service is a requirement for all commercial kitchens. Most commercial insurance policies will ask for evidence of this to comply with fire safety guidelines. Our engineers provide an excellent commercial cleaning service. We also service the motor to prolong its lifespan and ensure it is operating to the expected standard.

Following a fan clean and service, a certificate will be issued. Accompanying the certificate will be before and after pics of the clean. We always show the client pictures so they can be assured the clean has been done efficiently. Some insurances also ask to see these.

Many fans displaying some operating issues may just need a good clean and a service. Some symptoms of a heavily greased fan could be:

  • Fan operating slower than usual due to grease build up.
  • Smoke and fume build up in the kitchen.

New kitchen canopy, commercial extraction system install.

New Kitchen Canopy Install

This client got in touch as they were renovating their existing location. A new bespoke made stainless steel kitchen canopy was required along with a new extractor fan. We were able to utilise some of the existing ductwork and just relocate it. From the point of ordering, this kitchen canopy was manufactured within a week.

A completely new system isn’t always required when making changes to a commercial kitchen. Depending on the situation, we are sometimes able to reuse parts of the old system.

There are a number of ways to detect whether an extractor fan is in need of an upgrade or replacement. These are:

  • The fan may have become noisier than usual.
  • The fan may start to rattle.
  • It may stop and start.
  • It may run slower than usual.
  • It may not be operating at the usual level of extraction.
  • If you have added to your cooking equipment since your old system was installed, you may need to also upgrade your fan to cope.
