Noise and Odour Control
Noise
Problems associated with noise from commercial kitchen exhausts are common, especially in residential areas. There are a number of ways to mitigate this. Noise and vibration from the system can be reduced by using a variety of equipment. From attenuators to acoustic jackets, our technical team will assess the potential noise risk and propose adequate mitigation measures.
Noise impact assessments – Should you require a noise impact assessment to accompany a planning application, our team can arrange this.
A noise impact assessment will try to predict the impact your proposed kitchen extract system will have on the surrounding area. An acoustic engineer will visit the site to determine the baseline noise using noise receptors usually left in place for a number of days. A report is then written for submission to the local council to predict how the proposed development will alter this and the affect on the local area. The acoustic engineer will factor in proposed noise control equipment in the report.

Odour
Adedquate odour control is an essential part of the design and installation of any commercial kitchen extract system. Our team can provide an odour risk assessment for your development and make the necessary recommendations for odour control measures.

Products
- Baffle grease filters - Baffle filters provide additional advantages in eliminating oil and grease from smoke and allowing for smooth exhaust
- Carbon Filtration - Carbon filters are carbon-based substances that collect impurities while neutralizing grease and odours caused by cooking.
- ESP Systems - The Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) can be used in kitchen extract systems or industrial applications for the efficient removal of grease, smoke, and airbourne oil / coolant mist. ESP’s can be either duct mounted or free hanging for the recirculation of air.
- HEPA Filters - High-Efficiency Particulate Air or HEPA filters must be able to remove, from the air that passes through it, 99.97% of particles. Our main use of HEPA filtration is the removal of smoke particles.
Our technical team can assist with odour control mitigation both for a new development pre system install and for existing systems, where odour has become an issue. Many products we use can be retro fitted in extract systems already in operation.
